Our Philosophy.
We are providers of Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy with caring hands in a calm and healing environment.
We have dedicated over 20 years to the specialization of the treatment of neurological injuries in the inpatient, outpatient, and home settings.
We help our clients continue the healing process in a quiet, distraction free environment.
Our treatment encourages normal movement and discourages compensation and the use of only one side of the body. We focus on facilitating movement of the affected side with the ultimate goal of using both sides of the body in daily activity and life.
We understand the life changing effects a neurological injury can have on an individual’s roles in relationship, in the family, at home, at school, at work, and in the community. We acknowledge the importance of resuming personal and vocational roles and assuming new roles; taking any cognitive, physical, emotional, and psychological changes into consideration.
We treat the whole person, considering the effects a stroke, brain injury or any other neurological insult can have on systems of the body; including movement, sensation, cognition, perceptual-motor, psychological, and social.
We consider the individual’s history, current living environment, and support system in treatment planning, modifying as needed to meet the needs of our clients.
We individualize every treatment plan and treatment session in order to meet the needs, goals, and expectations of our clients. We work together to create individualized home exercise programs to reinforce and enhance the focus of treatment in the clinic.
We believe that longer sessions of treatment have a beneficial effect on speeding up the recovery process. We encourage an increased intensity of treatment to promote the greatest change possible. We work with our clients to adjust the length and frequency of individual treatment programs based on need, preference, endurance, and availability.
We use a multi level approach to help our clients regain bilateral use of the body with the addition of therapeutic yoga to emphasize core strength, body awareness, balance, and thoughtful movement. Particular emphasis is on the breath with movement and release of excessive effort. We help our clients transition to a daily whole body home exercise practice to help build bilateral awareness, core strength, and isolated movement.
We genuinely believe that although a stroke or brain injury changes life in an instant, our clients will continue to heal with persistence and time.
We are humbled by the privilege of helping our clients navigate the road of recovery to greater health and spirit…
